Monica+Andrea – A Warehouse Stylish Wedding with a Real Market
When I met Monica and Andrea, I was immediately delighted by their ideas: it was the kind of impossible project I’d like to be involved in.
They’d like a very informal wedding, one of a kind, against traditions but full of nice details at the same time. The religious ceremony was celebrated in a small ancient church (with original “frescos” on the walls) surrounded by the Swiss mountains and with amazing view. Church decorations and the bouquet were full of bright winter-look colors like purple, red, contrasting with pale pink and greenery.
The reception was something unique: we chose an industrial venue, a cigar warehouse situated in a stunning position on the banks of the lake Maggiore in Switzerland.
Imagine a huge space to be filled up with a real market and a long wedding table! Each item was built by the bride and the groom and I mean almost everything. There was a big red door with the words “Welcome to our world” and a wooden gate where guests could find a key with their names and an image to find their seat (amazing seating chart isn’t it?). Then after a welcome drink, the lunch was both a buffet with some dishes served at the table.
Table setting was amazing: it looks like a Pinterest photo with wooden tables, mismateched vintage chairs, wooden ladders with flowers in bottles and bulbs hang up, vintage candleholders with black candles, vases full of red, purple and pink flowers with big proteas. The placemats were in paper with a printed menu and the stationary was all personalised.
Each food station were curated for example we had the Bread Station, the Cheese station with sauces and jams/honey, the Sushi station, the Dessert station, the Lemonade Station, the Whiskey and Chocolate Station and so on..
After this people has been invited to take a bag and to serve themselves to the market: each desk was made by different stuff, from vintage furniture to wooden boxes and all handmade and we styled up each element: the fruits and vegetables stand, the spices stand, the beans stand, the aromatic plants stand, the vintage clothes stand…
Surprises were not finished: entertainment was a topic in this wedding. From the vintage music band and the dance competition, some funny games for the bride and groom like the crossword puzzle, the handmade cigars, and in the end an auction of all the stuff for a charity company!Creativity was not missing in this wedding and we only put together and realise the ideas of the guys.
And what about them?Eclectic style, tattoes and open minded!Love them and their wedding!
Thanks to you guys and to the nice team we worked with!
