Real Weddings: Rebecca&Valerio

Oggi posso finalmente mostrarvi le foto del matrimonio dei fantastici Rebecca e Valerio.

Today I’m showing you the pics of the wonderful Rebecca&Valerio’s wedding.

Preparare questo giorno è stata per me una grande emozione sia per il fatto che Rebecca è una mia amica, sia perché ho condiviso con lei e la sua grande super famiglia gli ultimi momenti da fidanzata (con tanto di serenata del futuro marito!).

Planning this day was a big emotion, because Rebecca is one of my dear friend and also because I shared with her and her great super family the last fiancée moments (with a serenade by her future husband too).

Non sono però assolutamente di parte nel dire che era bellissima: la sua scelta è caduta su un abito meraviglioso interamente ricoperto di pizzo dal gusto retrò e dalla linea anni Venti abbinato ad un cerchietto impreziosito da strass e Swarovski. Un remake dei Twenties anche nell’acconciatura, che partendo dal cerchietto creava però un’onda più morbida rispetto a quella marcata delle donne negli anni ruggenti. Il trucco partiva dai toni del nero, ma alleggerito con ombretti prugna e marrone, il gloss sempre prugna chiaro era trasparente ma rendeva le labbra più voluminose e morbide, mentre il phard rosso è stato sfumato in toni più chiari comunque caldi.

I’m not partisan if I say she was soooo beautiful: she chose a gorgeous gown covered by lace with a Twenties line and matched with a rhinestones and Swarovski headband. A Twenties remake also in the hairstyling, with a soft ripple if compared with that one of the Roaring Women. The make up started from black shades lightened with purple and brown eye-shadows, the gloss was a light purple to make lips more voluminous and soft, while the red phard was faded with lighter and warm tones.

Per la chiesa addobbi floreali semplici con ortensie bianche, felci e steli verdi.

For the church the floral ornaments were made by white hydrangeas, ferns and green stems.

Il mio progetto si basava sul riutilizzo di materiali e oggetti antichi. Quindi per i coni di riso, vecchie pagine di un libro; sui centritavola barattoli di marmellata o miele riempiti con ceri, candele galleggianti e ortensie, ornati di merletti, spago e rafia. Unico tocco di colore il nastro color pesca dei tovaglioli.

My project was based on the reuse of materials and old objects. So for the rice cones I used old books pages; for the centerpieces mason jars filled with tapers, floating candles and hydrangeas, decorated with laces, twine and raffia. The only touch of color was the peach ribbon around napkins.

Per il tableau e per i messaggi degli ospiti ho utilizzato vecchie valigie anni Cinquanta/Sessanta: con dello spago ho appeso i cartoncini dei tavoli numerati. Appoggiati a dei filarini (strumenti che le nonne utilizzavano per filare la lana), alcuni cartelli con indicazioni come Wedding, Cena, Cocktail. Tutti i cartoncini utilizzati per i cartelli appesi, per la confettata e per il tableau di colore marrone erano in carta riciclata.

For the table set and the guests messages I used old Fifties/Sixties luggages: with twine I hung the numbers cards. I put on “filarini” (old instruments used by grandmas to spin wool) some signs to suggest directions for Wedding, Dinner and Cocktail. All the brown cards I used for signs, sweets, table set, table numbers etc…were made by recycled paper.

Per la confettata, i barattoli di varie forme e misure e posizionati su antichi centrini (cuciti a mano da bisnonne pazienti) sono stati riempiti con confetti, M&M’s, gelatine e marshmallows: gli ospiti potevano servirsi con dei cucchiai colorati e riempire sacchettini su cui era stampata la frase tratta da Colazione da Tiffany (uno dei film preferiti di Rebecca): “A questo mondo si deve appartenere a qualcuno, perché questa è la sola maniera di poter essere felici”. For the sweets table, different shapes and sizes jars were placed on antique “centrini” (sewed by hand by patient grandmas) and filled by oval shaped sweets, M&M’s, jellies and marshmallows: with colored spoons, guests should take away sweets and put them in mini bags with a printed quote from “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” (one of Rebecca’s favourite film): “People do fall in love, people do belong to each other, because that’s the only chance anybody’s got for real happiness.” (Paul “Fred”Varjak)

L’aperitivo e la festa finale si svolgevano sotto un porticato al cui ingresso ho collocato le iniziali degli sposi intrecciate con della gypsophila, il comune “velo da sposa”.

Happy hour and final party took place under the porch: on the entrance the bride and groom initials weaved with gypsophila.

All’interno il telo per il Photobooth: nella stoffa (con stampa di mongolfiere vintage) ho ritagliato due rettangoli e creato cornici in carta a cui le persone potevano affacciarsi e scattare fotografie come dietro una vera parete di casa.

Within the porch the Photobooth sheet: I cut out two rectangles in the fabric (with vintage hot-air balloons printed on) creating frames where people could look out and took pics as in a real house wall.

Sono molto soddisfatta del lavoro, mi ha entusiasmato prepararlo e vederlo arrivare al compimento: ma la soddisfazione più grande è stata quella di contribuire con piccole cose alla felicità degli sposi a cui di nuovo rivolgo il mio GRAZIE!

I’m really delighted and happy for the outcome of the event. I got enthusiastic while I prepared it till the end: but the most satisfaction was to help making Rebecca and Valerio happy with little things so THANK YOU again!
