Sommersi dalla neve/Under the snow

Ciò che più colpisce di questi giorni è il silenzio che crea la neve. Attutisce tutti i rumori. Ed è proprio questa atmosfera rarefatta che si percepisce in questi shooting invernali: un bianco soffuso negli allestimenti, porcellane, lane e fiocchi di neve mixati a candele dalla luce calda.

What strikes in these days is the silent created by the snow. The noise disappears.This is the rare atmosphere of these winter shootings: a suffused white in the arrangements, porcelain, wools and snowflakes with warm light candles.

Un matrimonio al freddo?Si può./ A winter wedding?Yes, you can.

Se chiudo gli occhi un minuto pensando a dove vorrei essere in questo istante…ok il primo pensiero va ad una location caraibica…il secondo ad un posto comunque caldo, magari più facilmente raggiungibile. Col gelo dell’inverno (e questi giorni mettono a dura prova!) quello che vorremmo sono nell’ordine cioccolate in tazza, coperte, maglioni di lana e così via…O una bella baita con pareti in legno e candele disseminate ovunque…Da qui a guardare positivamente un matrimonio durante l’inverno ne passa…quindi da questo momento tenterò di rispondere a una domanda che mi son fatta più volte: perché sposarsi in inverno?

E sono certa che qualunque risposta porterà ugualmente al lieto fine…

If I close my eyes for a moment thinking about where I would like to be in this instant… well, the first thing that comes to mind is a Caribbean location… the second… mmm… still a warm place, perhaps somewhere more easily accessible. With the chill of winter all around us (especially this year!) we’re dreaming of hot chocolate, warm blankets, woolen sweaters and lots more cosy things… Or, a beautiful chalet with wood-paneled walls and masses of candles strewn around the rooms. It’s hard to imagine a wedding in the cold…so from now on I will try to answer a question that I’ve asked myself several times: why get married in winter?

And I am pretty sure that every reply will still lead to a happy ending…

UNA COSA NUOVA, UNA COSA VECCHIA, UNA COSA BLU…./SOMETHING NEW, SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING BLUE…

Quello che vogliamo fare con questa sezione è introdurci nel magico mondo della fotografia per raccontare una storia fatta di sensazioni, per rappresentare il romantico e per camminare nel passato.
Come una specie di manuale, raccoglieremo per voi ispirazioni, produrremo scatti e vi racconteremo la storia dei grandi fotografi che si sono avvicinati al matrimonio.
Per iniziare abbiamo provato a camminare sulla neve senza lasciare tracce…illustrando uno dei più antichi detti.

What we’d like to do in this section is to enter the magical world of photography to tell you a story made up of feelings, to represent romance and to peek back to the past.

We’ll collect all sorts of inspirations for you, like a kind of wedding handbook; we’ll take photos and tell you about the great photographers who have captured the magical moments of wedding days.

To start off we tried to walk on snow without leaving traces … illustrating one of the oldest sayings.

“Qualcosa di vecchio” è la prima riga di una tradizionale filastrocca che dice ciò che una sposa deve indossare come porta fortuna, al suo matrimonio. La superstizione è nata dal 1883, e dice: “Qualcosa di vecchio, qualcosa di nuovo, qualcosa di prestato, qualcosa di blu, e una moneta nella scarpa.”

“Something old” is the first line of a traditional rhyme which details what a bride should wear at her wedding for good luck. The superstition was born in 1883, and says: “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a coin in your shoe.“

Per raccontare la neve e il matrimonio ho scelto degli scatti di Paolo Roversi; perchè nessuno meglio di lui riesce a rappresentare in modo così sublime, l’impalpabile neve che si appoggia su abiti magici…

Paolo Roversi, è uno dei fotografi di moda contemporanei dotati di maggior talento e dallo stile più personale e riconoscibile.
Guardando le sue fotografie si respira un’atmosfera sommessa, antica, affidata alla grande attenzione per la luce, ai volumi e ai tenui cromatismi memori del Pittorialismo storico. Tutto questo sembra riportarci indietro di secoli alle esili principesse avvolte in abiti preziosi, raccontati nelle favole.
Con “Family Circus” il silenzio della neve sopravvive al di là del tempo.

Paolo Roversi is one of the most talented contemporary fashion photographers; his personal, and easily recognisable style, captures sublime details, impalpable hints of snow on magical garments…

His photos reflect subdued atmospheres with an antique soft-focus style; he pays great attention to light, shapes and muted colours reminiscent of Pictorialism. An approach that seems to take us back centuries to delicate fairytale princesses wrapped in precious clothes.

With “Family Circus” the silence of the snow survives beyond time.

Ciao ragazze, eccoci qui pronte per iniziare un nuovo percorso di bellezza a 360 gradi!

Questo mese abbiamo pensato di dedicarlo alle spose d’inverno!Tutte noi forse abbiamo sempre pensato ad un matrimonio nei mesi caldi, primaverili, dove sfruttare al meglio luce, fiori, temperature…ma fidatevi…l’inverno ha con se’ un fascino indescrivibile! Carnagioni chiare, occhi luminosi, per un effetto quasi etereo.

This month we have decided to dedicate beauty to winter brides. Maybe most of us have always thought about spring or summer weddings to take advantage of the best light, of beautiful flowers, of balmy weather… but trust us… winter too has great charm! Clear complexions, sparkling eyes, for almost ethereal effects…

Ma come ottenere tutto questo?

Partiamo dalla cura quotidiana della pelle. Con il freddo la nostra pelle ha bisogno di coccole particolari…un po’ come noi no?Quindi che c’è di meglio del dedicarsi ogni sera una coccola esclusiva(ma veloce)…e terminare in bellezza con una domenica dedicata solo a noi (e magari qualche amica!) avvolte da una meravigliosa maschera idratante.

So, how can we achieve all this?

Let’s start with a daily skincare routine. With the cold weather our skin needs extra-special pampering… much like ourselves! So what could be better than treating it to a quick, but luxurious, treatment every night… and then end the week with a Sunday dedicated entirely to ourselves (and maybe some good friends!) wrapped up with a wonderful moisturizing mask?

Ecco alcuni consigli pratici!

Indispensabile con il freddo, lo smog, lo stress quotidiano, è detergere perfettamente la nostra pelle con un morbido latte detergente steso con le mani(niente cotone,potrebbe irritare!) massaggiato bene in modo da sciogliere tutto il make up  e rimosso con una delicata spugnetta. A quel punto possiamo imbibire con un po’ di tonico il batuffolo di cotone e passarlo delicatamente sulla pelle. Questi passaggi sono indispensabili per una pelle sana e luminosa! Poi possiamo passare tranquillamente ad una buona idratazione con siero e crema!

Nei prossimi mesi vedremo nei particolari tutti questi passaggi! Per finire in “bellezza” non dimenticate un buon esfoliante delicato,e una buona maschera idratante e lenitiva 1 /2 volte a settimana! Non esitate a chiedere consigli anche riguardanti i marchi, è importantissimo scegliere quello piu’ indicato per noi.

Here are some practical tips…

With the cold, smog and daily stress it is essential to clean the skin perfectly with a soft cleansing milk applied with the fingers (cotton wool could irritate the skin), it needs to be massaged well to remove all the makeup and eliminated with a gentle sponge. At this point we need to soak a small ball of cotton wool with toner and gently wipe the skin. These are the basic steps for a healthy and radiant skin. Then we can proceed smoothly with moisturising serum and cream.

In the coming months we will look at all these steps in detail. To finish ‘beautifully’ don’t forget a gentle scrub and a good moisturising and soothing mask once or twice a week!

Don’t hesitate to ask for advice on skincare brands as it is important to choose the most suitable for your skin.
